World Yo-Yo Contest and Everything You Need to Know
The World YoYo Contest 2025 is coming back to Prague, Czechia from August 7–10, and it’s gearing up to be the most exciting yoyo event of the year. The contest venue is at Cubex Centrum Prague, making this the first time in over a decade—since 2014—that the WYYC returns to Europe. Whether this will be your first Worlds you’ll attend or a returning competitor, here’s everything you need to know so far:
First Time at WYYC?
No worries—you don’t have to compete to enjoy it! The World Yo-Yo Contest is more just a competition, it’s a worldwide gathering for yoyo players to hang out and share tricks. You’ll see amazing freestyle performances, learn new tricks, meet players from all around the world, and trade yoyos in an open, welcoming atmosphere. It’s the ultimate place to get inspired. You’re garenteed to leave as a better yoyo player before you arrive.

What Are the Divisions?
From the main championship divisions: 1A to 5A, and beyond, there are numerous categories. If you’re curious about what each division means or which one might suit you? You can learn about the different styles of yoyoing here.

What to Bring:
When heading to the World Yo-Yo Contest, it’s wise to come prepared with both your yoyo gear and a few extra essentials.
Sharpies
The top players and world champions will be attending this event! Many are happy to sign yoyos, cases, or t-shirts. If you want your gear autographed, bringing a sharpie is your best bet—normal pens won’t cut it on a shiny aluminum yoyo.
You’ll want to bring a variety of yoyos, and the best way to protect them during travel is a sturdy hard case. Whether you’re bringing your entire collection or just your top three throws, a case keeps them safe and organized.
Money
From special releases and limited edition colorways to brand-new yoyos, the sponsor area will be packed with exclusive finds. Trust us—you’ll want to save up! YoYoFactory and other top brands will have plenty there for you.
