4A: Offstring Yoyo Style

Offstring style, or 4A, has the yoyo not attached to the string. Players throw the yoyo differently than 1A and catch it on the string, performing aerial tricks and whips.

4A style of yoyo trick

Ideal yoyo to use is not made from metal, but plastic or delrin material. This allows the yoyo to easily bounce on the ground and back on the string without shattering. The yoyo we reccomend using is the Flight.

5A: Freehand Yoyo Style

Freehand, or 5A, involves a yoyo with a counterweight attached to the end of the string instead of being tied to the player’s finger. This allows for unique trick and high arial playing to toss the yoyo into the air.

Any UNRESPONSIVE 1A yoyo can be ideal to use for this style.
